This song was created as part of Katy Wehr's album 'And All the Marys' with each track featuring a different woman in the Gospels. Psalm 84 was given to the Prophetess Anna since we don't have any words of hers in the Gospels but Luke 2:36-38 tells us that she always stayed in the Temple in Jerusalem, praying day and night.

This song helps us imagine ourselves present with the grieving women followers of Jesus, who have just seen Him crucified and now prepare the customary preparations for a proper burial. Special thanks to Eleanor Carlson as art director and to Nola Nelson and Lindsey Deakins for ‘lending a hand.’ In writing the song, Katy Wehr imagined the myrrhbearers consoling each other by singing a well known text from Song of Songs 8, which seems both mournful and hopeful here. A poem celebrating romance - one of God's most exciting gifts! Kathryn Wehr collaborates with her photographer nephew Patrick Wehr (Instagram: @patrick_wehr) with another nephew and niece-in-law Jon and Gabi Shirley as the models. Katy also wrote the music specifically to collaborate with musicians Weily Grina-Shay (clarinet) and Bjorn Grina-Shaw (marimba). The Grina-Shays are members of the 10th Wave Chamber Collective (https://www.10thwave.org/).
